Yay for doctor's appointments, or not so much.

I have an out of town doctor’s appointment tomorrow. This is one of those things where the doctor says I have to go every 6 months, and even though I’d rather be doing something else entirely, I have to go anyway. When they called to remind me of my appointment on Thursday, they said I needed to bring a list of my medications. You’d think they’d have that on file, but they didn’t last time. I ended up calling my GP’s office and asking them to fax it to the specialist. My caregiver went out to lunch on Friday, and she had a list of medications here, so now I have that, (just in case they don’t have it on file.)

Shipping issues.

Our first order of cookies came today. I found out that the seller, (because although Amazon fulfilled them, they aren’t being shipped by Amazon,) was shipped USPS. I don’t like having things shipped to me USPS! I especially don’t like it this in this case, because there are 2 estimated delivery dates on the order. One is for tomorrow, and one is for Tuesday, (the 28th.) I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow, normally we would do this on Tuesday, but since I’m not sure what I’ll be doing and how long I’ll be waiting for information to come down from the Fourth Circuit, I most likely won’t be going anywhere on Tuesday. We’ll be going grocery shopping tomorrow, so suffice it to say, I won’t be home. The packages that come through USPS are left with my landlord, and he brings them to me, this doesn’t happen if I’m not home. I called the post office, and asked them to send me a parcel notice. If it comes tomorrow, We’ll be picking it up on Friday, if it comes Tuesday, we’ll be picking it up Wednesday. This is what happens when you ship something USPS.

Asking a favor.

To all my blog followers who have Twitter accounts, I ask a favor. I know this might sound weird, and no, I’m not asking you to follow anyone. Instead, I’m asking you to block someone and report them as spam. Why, well, there’s the most obvious reason, because they tweet the same link over and over, it fills up my twitter search, and I’ve seen enough of it! The other reason is because obvious libel is extremely obvious! Twitter doesn’t really have a policy on defamation or libel, but let’s look at Twitter’s spam policy:

◦ Spam: You may not use the Twitter service for the purpose of spamming anyone. What constitutes “spamming” will evolve as we respond to new tricks and tactics by spammers. Some of the factors that we take into account when determining what conduct is considered to be spamming are:
◦If you have followed and/or unfollowed large amounts of users in a short time period, particularly by automated means (aggressive following or follower churn);
◦If you repeatedly follow and unfollow people, whether to build followers or to garner more attention for your profile;
◦If your updates consist mainly of links, and not personal updates;
◦If a large number of people are blocking you;
◦If a large number of spam complaints have been filed against you;
◦If you post duplicate content over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account;
◦If you post multiple unrelated updates to a topic using #, trending or popular topic, or promoted trend;
◦If you send large numbers of duplicate @replies or mentions;
◦If you send large numbers of unsolicited @replies or mentions in an aggressive attempt to bring attention to a service or link;
◦If you add a large number of unrelated users to lists in an attempt to bring attention to an account, service or link;
◦If you repeatedly create false or misleading content in an attempt to bring attention to an account, service or link;
◦Randomly or aggressively favoriting Tweets through automation in an attempt to bring attention to an account, service or link;
◦Randomly or aggressively Retweeting accounts through automation in an attempt to bring attention to an account, service or link;
◦If you repeatedly post other users’ account information as your own (bio, Tweets, url, etc.);
◦If you post misleading links (e.g. affiliate links, links to malware/click jacking pages, etc.);
◦Creating multiple misleading accounts in order to gain followers;
◦Selling followers;
◦Purchasing followers;
◦Using or promoting third-party sites that claim to get you more followers (such as follower trains, sites promising “more followers fast,” or any other site that offers to automatically add folllowers

◦If you send large numbers of duplicate @replies or mentions;
OK, they might not exactly be the same, but they say almost the same thing, some Twitter clients won’t let you send duplicated mentions.
◦If you repeatedly create false or misleading content in an attempt to bring attention to an account, service or link; Um… yeah, this happens every single day!

◦If you send large numbers of unsolicited @replies or mentions in an aggressive attempt to bring attention to a service or link;
Yeah, I’d say they’re unsolicited mentions, I was expecting a reply, but only because I’ve seen his other replies.

This whole thing just happens to be over the legal case I’ve followed for the past 5 months now, yeah… we both hold extremely opposing opinions over Lavabit. So much so that when I was about to debate him, my friend Mark said, “stupid people are *stupid*, and he won’t get it no matter what you say.” so, if you could please block and report twitter user Havokmon I would greatly appreciate it!
Now, one of the things he did when I was about to debate him, was call me” uninformed.” That’s one of the things that when I mentioned it, made even the children’s director at church say, “he was talking about the wrong person!” I counted, I have 16 case-related documents saved on my computer, that includes the 162 page unsealed district court records, that I’ve read twice now. I’ve also linked to probably well over 100 things on my linkblog, http://webgurl.me/tagged/Lavabit Needless to say, I highly objected to the term, “uninformed,” but that’s when he got blocked and reported, because I didn’t want to see anymore ridiculousness in the mentions buffer. I knew if I started a debate, I it would be an endless back-and-forth of pretty much nothing, because it wouldn’t matter anyway. Then there’s the fact that I’m not the best at debate, and I could possibly fail epically, making the whole situation worse. As for the twitter user above, I like to call him ” MR. all I do is tweet ridiculous things,” or “MR. ridiculous” for short.”

Cookie shopping.

Today, my caregiver and I went to the store, to get several things. We actually went mainly to look for a certain kind of cookies, they’re from Pepperidge farm, and they’re thin and long. They have chocolate inside of them, and they come in a can. They’re actually straw-shaped. I was looking for a certain flavor of these cookies, because the ones I tried yesterday were too sweet, (they come in several different flavors. I just managed to find some of the flavors on Amazon, but not the one I wanted.

I learned to use PACER yesterday.

PACER stands for Public Access to electronic Court Records, and it took me a couple days to learn it. I thought I already had a PACER account for some reason, but I apparently didn’t. I had to register, give them my card information, (PACER is not free,) and then I was able to access the system. Once I found the PACER case locater, I was able to search by case number to find the document I was looking for, (and a couple others.) I was actually looking for the missing legal document from this article, and found a couple others one relating to that, and one that looked weird to me, so I downloaded it.
One of the amicus curiae organizations in the Lavabit case filed a motion to participate in the oral arguments, (which are coming up on 1/28.) I was looking for the missing motion, (which I found,) I also found a document stating that the motion was denied, and a suspicious looking document called “supplemental authorities response by appellee.” I uploaded these documents to my dropbox folder and tweeted them, I’m @webgurl on twitter, by the way.

I got back from my trip.

We got back on the 2nd, our flight was delayed until like 7, and we didn’t get into Portland until like 9. We didn’t actually get home until like 1 in the morning on the 3rd. Spirit airlines delayed our flight because of maintanence, it had something to do with a seal on one of the emergency exit windows. They had to make sure the plane was pressurizing properly.
I ordered pizza that Friday night, when we got back. I usually do that on NewYears eve, but since I wasn’t here then, I did it on the 2nd. We only had 2 kids in Sunday school this weekend, I’m not sure why, but apparently they only had 2 last weekend. The lady I normally teach with, (the pastor’s daughter,) is on vacation until the 14th, so the children’s director is teaching my class right now. On Sunday afternoon, I went over to my parent’s house to exchange gifts with my Grandma, who got there on Saturday.
