I hope everyone had a happy newyear! we spent it here at my parent’s
timeshare. Yesterday, we went to a chocolate factory, and a jerkey
store. I bought nearly $60 worth of chocolate, and $20 worth of
jerkey. The day before that, we went to New York, New York, (which is
a casino, and rode the roller coaster there. That was a lot of fun!
We’re leaving here tomorrow, and I’m actually ready to leave. I’ve
had epic internet connections failures on this trip. I’ve had my mom’s
system do some extremely strange things to me, things I’ve never seen
before. I]m ready to be able to blog and post links from the Tumblr
site again, and not have to deal with screaming babies while trying to
watch Youtube videos.

We’ve been here for 5 days now. So far, we’ve been to the
stratusphere, and I got to ride on 3 out of the 4 rides. I didn’t get
to do the fourth one, because my aunt wanted a drink, and we had to
leave the tower. The fourth one was the sky jump, which is almost like
bungee jumping. You jump from a platform 855 feet in the air, and land
on the ground, on another platform. They do this by using a vertical
zipline with a decelerator device. I wanted to do this one the most,
but it was the most expensive of all the rides. I had a lot of fun
doing the 3 that I did, but I really wanted to do that one!
Friday we went to Hoover dam, I wish we would have paid to take
the tour though, because that would have been more fun. It was mostly
a walk around and take pictures kind of thing. Whereas, if we would
have taken the tour, we would have been able to go inside and
everything. Yesterday, we went to Freemont Street, which is the old
part of Vegas. Mom locked her keys in the rental car! This is bad when
you have to wait a half hour for tripple A to come, in the fourth
floor of a parking garrage with a 20 month old baby. We were also
supposed to go ziplining, but the ziplines weren’t open, and they’re
not supposed to open until May.
Today, my aunt wrecked their rental car while going back to the
place where she thought she left her purse, when it was with her all
along. They had to turn in the car, and get a new one, but it only
took a couple hours. Mom set off the smoke alarm in the timeshare
while cooking, (the people above me in my apartment complex do this
quite often.) Oh, and I think at least 2 trips to the store were made,
while I tried to find this 30c3 speech, but I can’t find it, because
it hasn’t been released yet.

Tomorrow my family and I are leaving to go on our trip to Vegas. My mom doesn’t know what time we’re leaving yet, but I assume it will be sometime tomorrow morning, because we have to drive to my grandma’s boyfriend’s house, and they’re driving us to the airport. I intend to blog while I’m there, if I can get everything set up correctly. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

We exchanged gifts at my parent’s house today, we’re leaving to go on our trip on Tuesday. We decided to do it today, because we’re going to spend some time with my grandma on Tuesday before she drives us to the airport. I’m looking for a service that I can send a document to via email, and they will convert the images from the PDF into text, then send it back to me. The document is this 148 page legal document. The images only start after page 8 though. Why the Fourth Circuit released the document that way, I have no idea, but they did. I believe this is a FOIA release, and when I had my caregiver look at it, she saw what appears to be redactions. I haven’t yet found a service that will do this for me, (I’m sure it won’t be for free, so I’m willing to pay.)

I ordered a Christmas gift for my Grandma on December 10th, and it didn’t get here until today. Amazon emailed me to let me know that UPS couldn’t deliver the package, and gave me a tracking number, but didn’t tell me why. When I called UPS yesterday to ask them, they said it’s because my apartment number wasn’t in my address, (it never has been, and I’ve never had UPS fail to deliver before.)
I got a call from someone from UPS last night to tell me that they were confused, because the address on the package was wrong, (the street name was all messed up that time, even though I’d given my address at least twice during the earlier call.) When I went to track the package today, it wasn’t out for delivery, but UPS told me I would get it today. This was going to be a problem, because my caregiver and I needed to leave to finish my Christmas shopping, and get some last minute things for my trip next week. The package got here just before we left! This was a good thing, because I was going to have to have my caregiver go without me if it didn’t come, (or take my chances and hope it didn’t come while I was gone.

Yesterday I went to the Prayer Seeker’s Cafe Christmas potluck. It was fun, and we did a white elephant gift exchange. It wasn’t really a white elephant in the technical sense of the term, because we all just brought whatever, (normally a white elephant is supposed to be gag gifts,) but that’s what they call there’s when they do it. We played Bingo, and whoever won got one of the presents as a prize.

Last night, I hit 1000 links on my linkblog, My Web Adventures! It actually took me longer than I thought it would to get there, because I’ve been behind on posting links lately. I actually should have reached this last month, but I was sick, then got seriously behind after that. So yeah, need to not post links at 12 AM, which is why I’m writing this then. I’m not sure how much link posting I’ll be able to do while I’m on vacation over Christmas and NewYears, but I intend to post on this blog while we’re on our trip.

We’ve had snow here this weekend. Not sure how much, but I know we’ve had some. My parent’s live about 20 minutes away from here, and mom said they had about an inch and a half yesterday. I’ll be going to church tomorrow, but they’ve canceled Sunday school, so I’ll be going to services at the regular time.

After I got back from Prayer Seeker’s Café yesterday, I saw a document that said there will be oral arguments in the Lavabit case. From what I’ve read, most appellate cases are decided on the briefs alone, so this is a good thing! The arguments will take place on Tuesday, January 28th, 2014, and we don’t know what time, because they have other cases to get to that day. Oral arguments in appeals courts are only 20 minutes long. Whether or not we’ll actually get any information out of the Fourth Circuit as they’re happening is probably unlikely, because appeals courts tend to be extremely formal.
