I got downstairs at like 8:05, and the bus came a few minutes later. So yeah, I definitely missed it last weekend. Healing rooms starts again tomorrow morning, we’ve been off for a month because of vacations. The director is picking me up at 9:45, which kind of doesn’t make sense because we start at 10, (and usually I’m there around 9:30,) and we could end up being a little bit late. I’m hoping we’re going to start doing the evening healing rooms sessions again, but when I asked them about that last month, no one seemed to know if we were going to or not.

Today just happens to be mom’s birthday! My sister and her boyfriend took her to lunch, and dad and I ended up taking her to dinner, (apparently dad made plans but decided not to tell any of us what they were when he made them.) When I called mom to ask if we were going somewhere she said she didn’t know, and dad was at work so I couldn’t call him until later, (apparently he doesn’t have service where he’s working right now.) Obviously I knew we were going to do something at some point, so I was prepared as in had a card and such ready, but I wasn’t sure if it was going to be today or not. Our family does this thing sometimes where we might not be able to celebrate things on the exact date they happen, so the celebration happens somewhere around that time.

Are you tired? Not really, I usually don’t go to bed until 11 on Friday nights. Sometimes I’ll go to bed earlier, but only if I fall asleep while watching dateline, then I’ll wake up and go to bed. Via that’s my answerI’ll be sending the newsletter out sometime tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t involve any crashes while I’m putting it together, because that definitely holds up the process.
Thursday, September 27, 2012
So apparently sometime sometime between yesterday and last night, when I wasn’t paying attention to a certain list on twitter, the wikileaks founder delivered a speech to a sideline meeting at the UN general assembly. I missed the speech, and didn’t even know it was happening. Usually I try to catch these things whie they’re going on, but I didn’t this time. When I looked and couldn’t find video of it though, I was starting to be a bit annoyed. Then I realized that Reddit would likely have it, and they did!

I didn’t have the same issues today as I had yesterday. That’s probably a good thing, because I really didn’t want to have to call my ISP and ask why my internet was going out at completely random periods of time. I was able to get to my bank site this morning and pay my ISP bill, something I haven’t been able to do for a while, so that’s a good thing. It took clearing the cache for that to work, yeah I know people say that all the time, so it’s become kind of cliché, but it actually did work after I deleted everything and didn’t work beforehand.
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
A lot of strange things happened here today. My internet kept going out at completely random periods of time for a completely unknown reason, (I still have no idea why this was happening.) It was annoying at first, then it was a bit hilarious, (but don’t ever laugh about your internet going out in public because that’s a very bad thing to do!) Then it kept happening like every 5 minutes for a while, I’ve had internet non-stop for about 6 hours now. Oh yeah, I talked to mom and asked her if she got her Office 2007 files to open in Office 2003 yet, and she said she hadn’t tried as of this morning. She still had to take the computer that’s having hard drive failure to my sister’s work, (a guy who works with my sister is going to be fixing it.)
Monday, September 24, 2012
Not for me, because I have Office 2010 on this system. Mom called me this morning to ask if I had an office disc, I wasn’t sure at first, then I realized I probably did have an Office 2003 disc. Office 2003 won’t open mom’s office 2007 documents on it’s own though, (there’s a plugin you have to downloadd and install to make it work.) Unfortunately I didn’t remember this before tweeting that trying to get mom to understand that the 2 don’t work together isn’t so easy. Of course after I tweeted that, I got replies saying that there’s this plugin you have to download, then I was like oh yeah… I remember hearing about that somewhere, at some time, (but I’ve never had to use it.) I called mom later to ask if she found the disc, (she decided to see what she had before coming over here,) and she said she has Office 2003 on the 8 year old system she’s going to be using until she gets her’s fixed. I sent her the link to the plugin, so hopefully she can open her documents now! Trust me, having a family member go through hard drive failure isn’t fun!
Sunday, September 23, 2012
Well, that is if that was the bus driving away as I was running downstairs to meet them, then yeah I missed it. I’m fairly sure it was, because they didn’t show up after that. I decided not to leave to late so I wouldn’t have to stand out there for 20 minutes, but I ended up waiting there for 20 minutes anyway! I did manage to live stream the service, which started out not very good for some reason, (as in bad audio quality.) Although the stream usually isn’t that great in the first place, everything was clipping like crazy all of a sudden!

I was putting together my weekly newsletter around 10:30 this morning, and everything decided to flinch bigtime for some reason. I still don’t know why, but I wasn’t able to get back up and running for like an hour afterwards. The service I use is TinyLetter, and I’m really not sure what caused the crash. I was using TinyLetter in Firefox, because they don’t support IE yet. Not even an hour after I got back up and running, mom called me and told me her hard drive failed. Her system is 3 years old, so I got to give the lecture back to me that she always gives to me every 3 years. I didn’t send out the newsletter until around 5 this evening, because to be honest, I didn’t want a second crash to happen.
Friday, September 21, 2012
I should probably change the name of my newsletter to the weekend list or something like that. I didn’t have enough links ready to post today, so I’ll be sending it out sometime tomorrow. That is if TinyLetter decides to send it out, but if they don’t there’s still the archives. I think I have most of the links from the linkblog together inside the folder, now I just have to get the ones from here together.
Thursday, September 20, 2012
I tried tweeting with Siri today and yeah it did work, but it took me like 4-5 tries to get it to understand what I was saying. I’m still getting used to the new Blogger interface, and iOS 6, I’m still not sure I like the blogger interface. Although I don’t hate it either, so I won’t be switching. I’m still using Blog This to post to my linkblog, so it doesn’t really affect that unless I go to edit posts.
Wednesday, September 19, 2012
I got switched to the new blogger interface today, and the field for the body of the post isn’t exactly right after the title, which is where it should be. Normally the title comes first, then the place where you write all your text, then whatever else, (which should include a publish button.) The publish button actually comes before the place where you write the post, so it’s a bit strange, (or at least in IE.) I’m using IE in this account and Firefox with my linkblog account, so we’ll see what happens when I post there. I wasn’t moved to this interface as of yesterday. I also updated my phone to iOS 6today, I was having weird wi-fi unable to connect errors before I updated, and I heard that people were having wi-fi issues with 6 so I decided if I was going to have wi-fi issues, why not really have them? Lol, it turns out the wi-fi works again after updating, which is actually quite hilarious!
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
I have a chiropractor appointment at 9:30 tomorrow morning. My friend and I are switching chiropractors, so this will be my first time going to this new one. I ended up calling mom this morning, only to get her voicemail box. I texted her to ask her why that was, and she said she was at urgent care with dad. Turns out my dad has a kidney infection, (bleh!) Mom knew what it was right away, because she’s had so many of them. The only thing that really works for those, (it seems,) is IV fluids and antibiotics. Of course they give you a prescription you have to take after that too, but my mom has gone back several times for IV infusions.

So now that I have a cell phone, (that works, unlike the last one I had,) I pretty much use it as my primary line. I tell people that I don’t like to use the landline, both because I don’t know who’s calling, and because I’ve gotten strange calls on that number in the past, (weird, overseas charities that were looking for the last person who owned the number.) Not only that, but sometimes I leave it places and forget where I left it, (although that’s happened once or twice with my cell phone too, as in I left it in the bedroom and didn’t remember it was still in there when someone tried to call me.) That’s what happened today, because I used my landline to set a wake-up call. I forgot I left the landline in the bedroom this morning, that is until I heard this weird noise coming from well I wasn’t quite sure at the time, (at first I thought it was the Tv.) It was only after the fact that I realized that my landline was ringing, (um… oops!) Not only that but the person, (actually it was most likely an agency,) was calling me from one of those stupid numbers you can’t call back! The question is which agency was it? I never received a call on my cell phone, or an email, so I’m assuming it wasn’t important, but I’ll try not to forget the landline next time!
Sunday, September 16, 2012
For the past few weeks, I’ve had this problem where I can’t seem to get up on time on Sundays for some reason. I usually want to get up at 5 on Sunday mornings, so that I can do everything I need to do before church, (which includes eating, checking email/twitter, etc.) Last weekend, I didn’t get up until around 7:30, but today I got up on time. Not only that, the bus ccame! Since it was like 50 degrees outside, (although it got warmer later in the day,) I decided not to stand out there in shorts. I actually ended up wearing long pants and a sweatshirt to church today, (lol!)
Saturday, September 15, 2012
The lady who helps run bus ministry at church called me Thursday. She told me that I was accidentally taken off the list. She said they put me back on, so the bus should be here tomorrow morning to pick me up for first service. Mom asked how that happened, and since I didn’t ask, (because I didn’t really need to know that at the time,) I obviously didn’t have an answer for her on that one. Now all I have to do is get up on time tomorrow morning, and everything should go fairly well.
Friday, September 14, 2012
Can you do a cartwheel? No way! I never have been able to either for some strange reason. I also can’t do back handsprings either, so obviously I wasn’t meant to be a gymnast, although I had fun trying.
Via that’s my answer
I decided to send out the newsletter today, instead of waiting until tomorrow to send it out! It’s the Friday list afterall, not the Saturday list! Although I suppose if I really, really wanted to, and if I needed to make it a habit of sending it out on the weekends, I could probably change that somehow.
Thursday, September 13, 2012
So today, mom kept sending me text messages to set up this family locater thingy on my phone, (she did say it was a mistake afterwards,) but I said I don’t think I can set that up, but I’ll join foursquare if you want me to. I was refering to foursquare, the check-in service, not Foursquare, the church. Mom had never heard of the check-in service though, so she thought I was talking about the church. Lol, I thought that was hilarious, but naturally I shouldn’t have expected her to know I was talking about a check-in service. There’s also Four square, the playground game. I have a housing authority inspection tomorrow morning at 10 AM, if nothing breaks between now and then, things should go well. If something breaks between now and then, well that would be a problem that I wouldn’t be able to fix.
Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Lol, so at the end of the TechCrunch conference they had a reception while the judges deliberated. Apparently the person who was supposed to present the check and the trofy was a bit wasted, because she was laughing hilariously on stage with that laugh that usually happens when nothing hilarious is going on, and when someone is well… a bit tipsy. Everyone was cheering for the winners and such, and she just kept laughing right on through the presentation. It was hilarious! I ended up writing my dad a check today for my Verizon bill, but noone came by to claim it, and I’m not sure when someone will.
Tuesday, September 11, 2012
In the past, I’ve been able to pay my Verizon bill online. I went in there to pay it today, and it said it was an account owner feature, and that I didn’t have access to it. OK, so mom did change the password to her account, but I use my account to pay the bill. She gave me the password and I logged into her account to look to see what was up, and it said the account is being billed through CenturyLink. So now I have to write my dad a check because I can’t pay the bill online, bleh… how nice!

Actually, the doctor didn’t say much. There are two brothers who are doctors, and they practice in the same office. Before I was seeing the older brother, now I’m seeing the younger one. I asked him if I still needed to come in every 6 months, he said yes. Bleh… not only that, he’s going to make me have lab tests every 6 months, just because he thinks things will change with age. I’m 29 here, not 40, so I don’t think anything will change anytime soon. Just because things change over time, he wants me to come in every 6 months? That doesn’t make much sense to me, if we were talking about things changing over time, we’d be talking about that on a yearly basis, not semi-anually. Anyway, it’s time for me to get to bed, I’ve had the worst headache ever today one of those OMG! my head is exploding headaches! Oh the doctor is giving me a prescription to try and prevent me from having so many headaches. I actually have headaches about 4-5 times a week, so apparently there are things to try and prevent that from happening.
Sunday, September 9, 2012
I went second service instead of first though, because the bus didn’t come again this week. The lady that helps run the bus ministry came and picked me up, after I called her and told her they haven’t came for the past couple weeks. She said she talked to the bus driver, and he said I wasn’t on the list. She asked if I went on vacation 3 weeks in a row or something like that, and obviously I said no. Her husband is the one that runs it, so she’s going to talk to him and ask why I wasn’t on the list. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow at 2:45, that’s the one I had to reschedule last week. My friend said she would take me, and after that I intend to stop for ice cream.
Saturday, September 8, 2012
If the bus decides to come to get me for church tomorrow morning, then I’ll end up going. Of course i obviously won’t end up going if it doesn’t come. I ended up sending the newsletter out today at like 12 this afternoon. It actually took a while to send out, because I had lots of links in that folder. I ended up elliminating some of the links that I had, because there were just too many.
Friday, September 7, 2012
I’m going to send it out tomorrow instead. I’ve had a pretty bad headache all day, and I didn’t feel like preparing for it, and sending it out. I didn’t get up until almost 8 this morning. I ended up forgetting to set an alarm, so that I could get up at a decent hour. For some reason it’s been hard for me to wake up on my own for the last couple weeks. I went through a phase like that about 3 months ago, but got used to it after setting an alarm for a couple weeks.

That’s how I described today’s convention session in a tweet. They actually didn’t start until like 1:45, which was 45 minutes after they were supposed to start. Not only that, the gavel didn’t come down until an hour after the session started. Then they decided to do the pledge of allegiance at like 5 pacific time, which was about in the middle of the session. They did have to move the proceedings into the arena instead of having them in an outdoor stadium because of weather issues. Doing it this way made things rather hilarious, but it also left me wondering and waiting for various things to happen. But then again, I wasn’t sure when the roll call of states was going to happen, and it happened last night at 8:30 here!
Wednesday, September 5, 2012
The convention session just got over a few minutes ago, no I’m not kidding! When you decide to do the roll call of states at like 8:30 PDT and 11:30 EDT, things tend to get just a bit strange. This was after they’d already had a 6 hour session! I generally don’t eat until after these sessions are over, so I ended up having ice cream for dinner, because I didn’t want to eat a whole lot before I went to bed, and I wasn’t exactly sure how long the thing was going to take. Usually these things don’t tend to last all night, but I think this one was the longest one I’ve ever seen! I also need to get to bed sometime tonight, so I’m going to hit publish.
Tuesday, September 4, 2012
So I needed to call and reschedule my doctor’s appointment today, because my friend couldn’t take me. I actually didn’t have to reschedule, because right around 9 this morning, they called me! It’s always weird when my landline rings, (it seems to love to ring either in the middle or right at the beginning of convention sessions, for instance.) It was even weirder when there was a person from my doctor’s office on the other end, because before that I was just thinking I really needed to call them! Don’t ask about the convention calls thing… I have no idea! Last week, just before the big speech, I got a call from the automated reminder service from the doctor’s office reminding me that my appointment was today, (5 days ahead of time!) Today, just as the session started, I got a call reminding me that my prescriptions were ready! Uh… yeah they’re ready, because the pharmacy was closed yesterday.

Recently, I’ve had several people ask for certain information from me, information which I don’t necessarily want to give out unless I really know the person. I’m not talking about ultra-private information like phone numbers, (which I never give to someone I meet over the internet,) but what I’m talking about is the kind of information that several blind guys seem to want more than ever for some reason, instant messenger and Skype information. I give out my Twitter, Facebook, and URL information with no problems, and just in case I haven’t linked to it enough on here, I’m @webgurl on twitter, and here’s my Facebook profile. However, I won’t give you Skype or messenger information unless one of a couple things have happened. Either we already know each other, or we’ve exchanged messages on Twitter/Facebook for a month or more. The reason why I have this rule in place, is because I’ll get some guys, (it’s mostly guys who ask for this information, I think I’ve only had one or two ladies ask for it,) who follow me on twitter and ask for this information within a day or two. As someone who’s dealt with an obsessive person or two in the past, it makes me extremely suspicious that someone is asking for this information right away. I’m sure the person asking for the information isn’t suspicious, but as of yet I have no way of knowing that, and therefore won’t give this information out right then. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big believer in transparency, (and if you’ve been around me in the past almost 2 years now, you know this.) But if you follow me on a service, then ask for such information, there’s a process that needs to happen first, and that process could very well involve me blocking someone who keeps asking over and over.

We only had one service at church this morning, at 10:00. We do this on Labor Day, because of the church campout, we have half the people coming to church so they only do one service. Last weekend, I asked the person who was driving the bus what time it would be here to pick me up this weekend, he said the normal time just an hour later,(which would be around 9:15. I left to go downstairs around 9:08, and waited about a half hour for the bus to come. It never came, so I ended up coming back up here and live streaming the service. Either they came at 8:15 like they usually do, or they just didn’t come at all for some reason.
Saturday, September 1, 2012
Actually the audioBoo was, but I deleted it so that this would be. I can’t believe I’ve written 1000 posts on this blog. I started it on June 24th, 2009, and I’ve been writing almost every day since 2011, with the exception of the few days I switched to tumblr.
I came here after using WordPress for 3 years, I was tired of the seemingly unfixable errors, and the constant password issues I was having. The posts I wrote from January 2006 to June 2009 have all been lost, except for a few thanks to archive.org. I did my first 2 blogathons on WordPress. I actually started blogging in 2003, on a site called DiaryLand.
If you’re reading, you might be asking why I’m still blogging. After all, blogging is supposed to be dead, and sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest are supposed to be where we all go these days… right? There are several reasons why I haven’t given up my blog for short form services like twitter, and complex and ever-changing, (and very ephemeral sites like Facebook, timeline notwithstanding.) Although I use these services, I think it’s beneficial to have a single place to write. I consider Twitter a place to have short conversations and find interesting things that other people post, and I’m only on Facebook because my family and friends from church happen to be there. With this blog, I can look back and see what I was writing about 3 years ago today, and it’s awfully hard to do that with Twitter and Facebook. Contrary to what people say about the death of blogging, I read a lot of blogs, and I still use RSS.
