I had a headache all day today. I’m already ready to go to bed, so I’ll probably go to bed at 9 tonight. I did contact Tumblr support about the HTML editor, and they said they don’t support HTML customizations. That’s OK, but I’d at least like them to fix the HTML editor. Until I take the line of code that’s on the bottom off, which I can’t do because of the way the editor works, then disqus might work.

First of all, I didn’t get up early enough to live stream the British supreme court hearings. I did however read tweets for about 20 minutes to a half hour at the most, then went back to bed. We, (Wikileaks,) ended up losing the appeal. As of yet I haven’t found a video of the hearing in it’s entirety, but I do have a couple links to articles. Julian Assange loses appeal against extradition, from guardian.co.uk
Julian Assange Loses Extradition Appeal, from time.com
Not only did he loos, Assange wasn’t there because… get this… he was stuck in traffic! I don’t think it would be a whole lot of fun to have to learn your fate in a legal case while driving! I just can’t imagine having to experience that! I believe this is the only time, in almost a year and a half, that he hasn’t been able to be there for a hearing. The court did give the lawyers 14 days to ask them to reopen the case based on what I would call a technicality, but the links explain it way better than I could right now with a headache.

I wasn’t really looking forward to leading for my first time at healing rooms, but tonight was the night because there were only 2 of us. I lead once, and the guy lead a second time. Yeah, things are sort of broken, I’m having trouble with Tumblr’s HTML editor. The HTML sits above the form, but you have to navigate through the HTML to get it to fill the form. It only puts a few lines in at a time though, so I ended up putting my statcounter code in the wrong place! I think that’s causing disqus to break! I’ll be getting up very early tomorrow morning! I’ve been a Wikileaks supporter since Dec 2010, and I’ve been up for all the founder’s extradition hearings. Tomorrow’s the final one, the UK supreme court ruling on whether he has to go to Sweden or not.
I just realized that I really don’t have an introduction here on the blog, other than the 100 things about me list, (which is long!) So I used Bzoink.com to create this basic set of questions that I answered. I’ll make this a page for anyone who wants to look at it, there’s a link in my results to take the survey if you want!
Basic 20 Questions About You
Hair color?: Brown
Eye color?: Brown
Weight?: Somewhere around 160, and that’s all you’re getting!
Favorite food?: Let’s see… Chocolate, cheese, pizza, Chinees, Mexican, Italian, anything sweet, anything spicy, most any kind of chips and/or crackers.
Least favorite food?: I dislike a lot of weird things… Pie is one of them, but it probably isn’t my least favorite. Any sweet stuff with fruit filling definitely qualifies though, strawberry shortcake is a good example. I do love chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered bananas though!
Favorite drink?: Well, that’s definitely Pepsi or Coke, but since I don’t keep that stuff in the house so as not to drink it often, I’d have to go with either tea or PowerAid.
Least favorite drink?: Beer! Yeah, I don’t like beer, and I never have.
Favorite music?: Country and Christian.
Least favorite music?: Rap, heavy metal, and most Opera.
Favorite TV show?: NCIS, NCIS: LA, Criminal Minds, Surviver, Amazing Race, Dateline, 48 hours mysteries, 60 minutes, AGT, (America’s Got Talent.) I used to be a big CNN fan, but I think I’m getting away from that now.
Least favorite show?: I’m not a huge fan of the CSI franchise, I like NCIS better.
Do you attend church?: Yeah I do, almost every Sunday, and on Monday’s to pray for people!
Do you work, or go to school?: Not at the moment.
Are you married, or in a relationship?: Not yet, never have been. Definitely want to be someday!
What do you do for fun?: Surf the web, sing, dance, (which mostly consists of doing an interesting form of the twists.)
Do you have a blog? If so, give us a link!: I have two blogs! http://lifes-adventures.me is my personal blog, and http://webgurl.me is my linkblog!

I guess switching to tumblr from blogger means I have to learn not to forget to post all over again! I started the blog 365 thing last year, and got into the habit of blogging every day without forgetting, but I guess the “not forgetting” part has gone out the window for now. We only had 6 team members show up to church for healing rooms today. It was good that we were short on people, because we only had two prayer seekers come in. For those who might not know, I go every Monday, and now Tuesday nights, (with the hope of switching just to Tuesday nights,) to pray for people at my church. The Tuesday night one isn’t at my church though… it’s in a chiropractic office. I didn’t really want to go today because it was a holiday, and we didn’t have that many people come for exactly that reason. I went to have dinner with my family about 4 hours after I got back from church. My sister, her boyfriend, and my niece, (who’s about 7 weeks old,) were there. Mom made fried chicken, potato salad, and we had watermelon! I got to bring some home, so I’ll be having leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
Sunday, May 27, 2012
We had our memorial day service at church today. We got to have a barbecue after the service. My friend, her husband, and I all stayed for the barbecue. I don’t usually get to go to these kind of things, so it was fun. I’ll be going to have dinner with family tomorrow, mom’s making fried chicken! Unfortunately I have to go to healing rooms tomorrow. I wish they wouldn’t have it on holidays, but since I didn’t really have any plans until today, I couldn’t justify taking it off. I finally got the 100 Things about me page switched over to Tumblr. Tumblr has a weird way of handling ordered HTML lists, so I put it into word and listed it that way. Yesterday I wrote A list of alternatives to Google services on my linkblog. I think I’m going to make it a page for any would-be switchers.
Saturday, May 26, 2012
My friend who helps lead worship will be taking me to church tomorrow, but she isn’t on the worship team, (that I know of.) We’re having one service tomorrow, which is our memorial day service. I’m having all sorts of problems with Feedburner! First it decides not to update, then it decides not to redirect the lifes-adventures.me RSS feed, (although that could be Tumblr or something I’m doing wrong.) It’s safe to say I don’t really like Feedburner, but there isn’t a decent, (free alternative.) Yeah, there are services that have free plans, (but they’ll only let you have one feed, or it’s under a certain amount of subscribers.) I managed to change my Facebook email address, the email address of my daily bible reading service, and one of my Tumblr accounts over to hotmail. I’m not sure what I’m going to do for the email address with this tumblr account though, because they’ll only let you use one account per email address. I really don’t want to keep a Gmail or Google apps account around if I don’t have to, so maybe I’ll use an old hotmail or live.com address and just forward it over to my main hotmail address, (if you can do that for free.) There’s a way to edit the tumblr HTML to redirect the RSS feed manually, but I haven’t managed to do that yet.

I decided to sign up for Hotmail today, with the goal of eventually being able to delete my Google account. It feels a bit weird using Hotmail, because it used to be one of those things that if you use it, people either think you’re a spammer or they don’t take you that seriously. I guess it could be worse, and I could be using AOL, but I’m glad I’m not! I actually don’t mind the web interface of Hotmail, it takes some getting used to after using Gmail for 5 years now, but I think I’ll get used to it fairly soon. For now, I just forwarded my Gmail address to my Hotmail address, but I do intend to delete the account eventually. I think I’m going to end up changing the email addresses I used to sign up for both of the Tumblr accounts to my hotmail address. I really don’t want to have to use Google apps FYD if I don’t have to!

I still need to work on the blog a little bit. I need to work on switching the pages over, and importing posts. I should probably install something for comments, (because Tumblr doesn’t support comments natively.) I was actually going to work on all this stuff today, but I’ve had a really bad headache all day. One thing I don’t need to fix is my theme, which is the minimal theme that I’m also using on my linkblog. The theme really does handle all types of posts well. I have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow, but I intend to work on this stuff too.

I’ve pointed my domain over to tumblr, (it took like 5 seconds, and worked right after I pointed it!) So, here’s the address of my new blog: http://lifes-adventures.me the RSS feed is right here. I’ve tried to have Blogger switch this over to a blogspot blog, but it kind of wasn’t working when I was trying to switch it. I plan to leave this blog up for a while, while I import some of the posts, (but not all 846,) then I think I’m going to delete it. As of now this is my last post here, and I’ll continue my daily blogging on Tumblr.
Well let’s see… there are several things. Praying, singing, and talking to friends are just three of the things that make me feel better when I’m stressed, worried or in a bad mood. Others are dancing and watchint TV, (particularly reality shows.)
Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Until I get lifes-adventures.me pointing to the right place, this is the address for my blog: http://lifesadventuresme.tumblr.com I’m hoping to do the domain pointing stuff either real quick-like before I leave for the evening healing rooms, or maybe I’ll do it after I get back.
I was having problems creating a second Tumblr account earlier, (issues with captchas are so much fun!) I’m really loving Tumblr for my linkblog, I think I’ll love it even more than blogger for my personal blog too! The reason I created a separate account for this blog, is that I’m pretty sure people who are following and/or reading my linkblog, (yeah, there’s at least one or two that I know of,) probably won’t want to follow my personal blog.
I’m not sure how I want to handle my 3 years of posts on Blogger though, I contacted Tumblr support,(for other reasons,) and I asked if there was a way to import blogger posts, and they said no. I don’t really believe in “scorched data,” that is where you just delete everything without a proper archive, so I’m not sure what I’ll do. Maybe I’ll leave the blog up and just say that I won’t be writing here at all anymore, here’s where I’ll be so follow/subscribe here.
For the person who might be reading for the first time, I’ve been doing a project called blog 365 since the beginning of 2011, and I’ll probably keep doing it as long as I keep blogging. Although now it’s pretty much just a habit, so I’ll probably just do away with any sort of “blog 365 tag/label, like I’ve been using on blogger.

Get so wrapped up in posting links and doing other things that I actually just realized I forgot to post here! Tomorrow will be “switch to tumblr” day, and evening healing rooms are happening tomorrow night. Oh yeah, guess what? I get to do all that fun domain pointing stuff again just like I did last week, (yay!) This time, it won’t be broken by weird requirements, although it could end up being broken in other ways… yeah, let’s just say I need to do better than I did last time! OK, time to write 750 words, then get myself to bed. Yeah, I write a lot, and I link a lot more now than I used to.

I’m thinking about switching from Blogger to Tumblr, because of the way Blogger breaks things with domains, and the fact that parts of the interface don’t work for me, oh and also the fact that Google wants to integrate Google+ into everything. That being said, I have A COUPLE QUESTIONS FOR YOU GUYS. If I switched from Blogger to Tumblr, would you guys follow? Because I want you guys to follow… if you want that is! Tumblr has it’s own built-in follower/following feature that isn’t Google friend connect, would that work? Or can I just say follow by RSS and email and be done with it? Of course if anyone has a tumblr account they can follow that way, but if you don’t, would it work if I just said, “subscribe to this feed in a feed reader, or sign up to get email updates? I intend to export as many posts as I can, and import them there, and I won’t just delete the blog without telling anyone, (I intend to keep it up for about a month after.)

Has your luggage ever been lost while traveling? Yeah, it’s been lost a couple times, both times I was traveling with my parent’s. The last one I remember, was on the way back from our trip to Maine in 2005, (we flew Northwest.) When I took a trip there by myself in the summer of 2006 though, my luggadge wasn’t lost. Via That’s My Answer.I finished setting up the linkblog today! I did post twice today, the first one was a test post, and the second was an introduction post. The linkblog is right here. I intend to post at least a couple times a day with links I find.

So I was able to get lifes-adventures.me and webgurl.me set up, with help from Hover. Actually, I emailed asking them if there was a different way to point a domain to Blogger, and the person ended up doing it for me! If you’re following with friend connect you shouldn’t have a problem, but if you’re subscribed with RSS things are probably breaking right now. I took a quick look at the blog earlier today, and I noticed some of the widgets are broken. This tends to happen while switching from blogspot for some weird reason; I know it happened to me last year when I did it the first time. For now http://lifesadventuresnet.blogspot.com will redirect to http://www.lifes-adventures.me. Yeah, you have to use www because of Blogger’s ridiculous way of handling custom domains! They require a subdomain to be used, not what they call a “naked domain.” Personally, having only had to deal with CNAME records etc. a couple times, I think it’s ridiculous that they think they have to make it so hard! I pointed webgurl.me to tumblr today with just a simple IP address, OK I forgot to delete something that I didn’t realize didn’t need to be in my DNS records. DNS stands for Domain Name System,) and it’s what looks up the addresses of sites when you enter a domain, so that we don’t have to type in a long string of numbers to get to a site. Of course it’s a lot more complex than that, but that’s an extremely simplified explanation of DNS. So anyway, my registrar actually went in and deleted the extra IP address that was in my DNS records for webgurl.me, then they set up lifes-adventures.me using a CNAME record, (it’s what blogger requires, please don’t ask me to explain it right now,) to point the domain to blogger. You can either use www.lifes-adventures.me, (replace lifes-adventures.me with the domain of your choice… of course!) Or blog.lifes-adventures.me, but you have to use a subdomain. With tumblr it was just like add this IP address to your DNS and be done, it took me like 5 seconds to add. With blogger it was harder because I thought there might be an easier way to do it, but there wasn’t. That’s a really long way of saying yeah, things are probably still broken, and yeah, pointing domains is fun when it’s easy, but I’m still a clutz with DNS!

I’ve decided to skip weekly links this week, because I’m not quite ready to post them. I’ve had a headache all day, and I didn’t get any links together, although I have some. I didn’t set up the tumblr site for webgurl.me yet, (which will be a linkblog,) but I plan to do this tomorrow. This will change how I post weekly links, I plan to take what I think are the best 3 or 4, (or how ever many I think are good enough,) links from the linkblog that were posted throughout the week and post them here.
Tuesday, May 15, 2012
I decided that today would be the day I registered lifes-adventures.me and webgurl.me! I used Hover as my domain registrar, for various reasons, the main one being that they didn’t support SOPA and PIPA, and acording to their tweets, they don’t support CISPA either. Not only that, the interface is definitely easier to work with than well… the other registrar. It does take a bit of getting used to, but once you get used to it, it’s fairly easy to find things and make things work. For the past couple hours, I’ve been working to set up email on both domains using Google apps for your domain. The process has gone fairly well, but I messed up on lifes-adventures.me, causing me to have to fix the MX record, (that’s the thing that routes the email to Google’s servers.) I might have messed up on webgurl.me, I’m not quite sure. Apparently some registrars require an extra . in the address at the end, and some don’t. I don’t think Hover does, but I put it in just to make sure, so I might have to go take it out when I get back from the evening healing rooms test run. I’ll worry about pointing lifes-adventures.me to blogger, and webgurl.me to a tumblr site that I need to set up, sometime in the next couple days.

I prayed for one person in the healing rooms today, we had to go to lunch afterwards for our monthly meeting. Tomorrow night we’ll be going to the place where the evening healing room will be happening. Tomorrow night is just a test run, but next week we’ll actually be ready to have people come. On the way to the restaurant I asked the lady who will be leading it if I would eventually be able to switch to Tuesday nights from Monday mornings, and she said I should be able to. I called my friend who’s on the worship team at church, and she said I should call an associate pastor, (I guess that’s what I’d call him,) in our church who checks with ministries to make sure they’re on the right track, to investigate this whole terraforming thing. My other friend and I took a class with him when he was teaching Wednesday night classes like a couple years ago, he’s very good at teaching the bible, you could almost say that he knows everything, (although obviously he doesn’t because no one knows everything… except God that is!) He’s prayed for me at church before, when I’ve gone up for prayer for various things.

yeah, I know it’s a bit late, but I’ve been watching the Surviver finale, (yeah I actually do watch that!) Then I went straight to writing 750 words, before I realized um… I need to write a blog post! Today was fun, my family and I went to breakfast. After that I came home, and posted the 2012 pictures to Facebook. I had to make an album and share it, so they would post to the news feed. It didn’t used to be that way, you used to have to publish them then they’d show up, but now the only way I know how to do it is to share the album. to be that way,

I actually made a list of things to do over the weekend, because I didn’t want to wait to put them on a list next week. I ended up getting half the list done today, and will probably finish the other half tomorrow. I actually went through my summer clothes and found out which one’s fit and which one’s don’t, that was on the list.
Friday, May 11, 2012
What do you hope to accomplish this weekend? A couple things actually, fixing the facebook picture situation, because it needs to be fixed! The last 5 pictures I uploaded of my baby niece and I didn’t get published to the news feed. I think I’ve figured out a way to remedy that, but I’m not quite sure. Post my finished bucket list to 43 things. I took most of today to do something I’ve been wanting to do since 2010, and put all the things I might want to do someday, and some things I absolutely want to do on a list! I’ve had the list since 2010, but I finally finished it today! Oh yeah, and then have breakfast with mom and the rest of the family on Sunday. I’m pretty sure I will accomplish that one regardless. Via that’s my answer
Thursday, May 10, 2012
I actually don’t have many plans for this weekend, but I do have plans for Sunday. I won’t be going to church, because we’re taking mom out to breakfast. I could have gone to church if I was going to first service, but that would put us eating breakfast around 11. If we went to breakfast after second service, we wouldn’t end up eating breakfast until like 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon. We’ve done that once before, but it isnt much fun. We’re planning to go to breakfast around 10, because 9 is early for my family, (but not for me!)

Here are a couple links for this week.
- '@J_Dimps,' an 80-Year-Old Staten Island Grandmother, Is a Twitter Hit, from nytimes.com I started following her today. She’s 80 and she tweets!
- Teddy Wayne: Sharing on the Internet, from newyorker.com I know this has a fairly nondescript title, but this thing is hilarious!

I got to go to my parent’s house today. My sister came and ordered mom’s gift, but the baby was still at their house. My sister had to put some stuff on Craigslist, so we went to mom’s house, (where her pictures were.) I’m not exactly sure why she can’t put the pictures on a flash drive and bring them over here, but she either decided not to, or doesn’t have one. I got to hold the baby for a little while, and mom took more pictures of her and I. I didn’t put them on Facebook today, but I intend to do that in the next couple days. I’m defering weekly links until tomorrow, I think I’ll have to start posting them on Wednesdays anyway, because the evening healing room will be on Tuesday night.

We watched that Terraforming DVD today at healing rooms. The first thing I notice, (and the guy who brings me noticed it too,) was that there were very few references to scripture. I think they only quoted scripture like twice, maybe 3 times. OK, so maybe they don’t have to recite verses every 30 seconds, but I expect them to back up what they’re saying with biblical references, and they didn’t really do that. When they did quote scripture, they didn’t read it or anything, just gave the address. They talked about “the light of Jesus,” almost as though it’s a separate being. Before we start our prayers, we are to “welcome or “call forth” the light.” Of course they talked about “matter has memory,” and that if a person who’s always tired sits in a chair, a spirit of fatigue rubs off on the chair. The lady on the DVD said every time she sat in that chair she fell asleep, because “the chair remembers the spirit.” So I asked this question at the end, “If matter isn’t living, then how does it have memory?” The director’s wife blurted out, “I don’t know, but it does.” Other answers were, “how did Jesus walk on water, and how does a memory pillow keep its form?” There are parts of this that are actually somewhat OK, the parts about forgiving people from the past, and even past generations who have hurt you or your family. The rest of it though, sounds like a combination of Christianity and New Ageism thrown together. In other news unrelated to Terraforming, and yet somewhat related, we have a building for an evening healing room! I’m hoping to eventually switch away from Monday mornings. The evening healing room will have different leaders, so I’m hoping there won’t be as much of a focus on this as there is in the daytime one. The guy that will be leading the evening one has some of the same reservations as both of us. I didn’t even get into the stuff about “daily bread,” that we’re supposed to pray and ask for revelations that we have to take care of that day… and that’s supposed to be our daily bread. I also didn’t get into the fact that the director’s wife brought up NASA and science fiction at the end of the DVD… yeah, way to do things if you actually want people to believe you! Even she isn’t sure if this is going to work or not, on the way out she said “it’s going to take a lot of practice, but we’ll see.” I really do enjoy praying for people in the healing rooms, but the direction they’re going in right now has about 2 or 3 of us, (that I know of,) worried. When it comes down to it, healing rooms is all about praying for people who want prayer, I’m not really sure why the director and his wife are complicating it with all this other stuff.
Sunday, May 6, 2012
Tomorrow’s the day we have to stay 2 extra hours after healing rooms, to watch the DVD on Terraforming. I’m not really looking forward to it, because I’ll be there most of the day. We’re supposed to bring a sack lunch, but I think the person I ride with and I are getting a pizza. My sister and I are going to be ordering mom’s mother’s day gift sometime this week. She’s going to come over here and order it, because she doesn’t have internet service set up at her house. If she brings the baby, which I’m 99.99% sure she’s going to because… uh… where would the baby go otherwise? This will be the first time the baby’s been here. I asked her not to come tomorrow though, because I’ll be gone most of the day.
Saturday, May 5, 2012
Dad is taking me to church tomorrow, we’re going to the early service. My friend said her and her boyfriend were actually going to be gone this weekend, and my other friend is also out of town. When I called to ask if he wanted to take me to church, I told him he didn’t have to, and he asked me if I had a ride yet. I said no, and he said he’d take me. I know he isn’t a huge fan of sitting through church services, but at least he’s going to church every month or so now.

How often do you check to see what the weather is going to be like? I watch the weather on our local news most every day, but if I need to know anything before that I look at Weather Underground, or ask SIRI. Via that’s my answerI told mom about my weird speaker issues today, and she said I should try calling the company to see if they’ll send me a new set. I can try it, but I’m sure they probably won’t, beings they probably aren’t under warranty, and mom bought them on Amazon. She said she probably would have been better off buying cheaper ones, and the problem is that I needed to replace my really cheap speakers because I couldn’t hear my computer with my AC on! These actually work well with the AC… when they work that is!
Thursday, May 3, 2012
I didn’t really do much today, I’ve had a headache all day. I lost my left speaker again yesterday, and it came back today. I seem to be always hungry on this challenge for some reason, I’m not really sure why. I almost fell asleep, and didn’t post this! I’m glad I woke up, because if I hadn’t I probably would have forgotten to post.

Have you ever considered who you would want to give your eulogy? I used to want to have Martin Sheen give my eulogy, because I liked him on the West Wing. I think that would be a bit out of the budget though. So I don’t really care who gives my eulogy, but I do have one written already, just in case. I’ve given a couple eulogies, and it’s definitely easier if you don’t have to write them, so that you can concintrate on delivery. Via that’s my answerGrocery shopping went pretty well yesterday, but my friend’s boyfriend did end up telling me he’s “proud” of me for “getting different food this time.” Uh… yeah, I know he was trying to be nice and everything, but wow!

So today I kept thinking about weekly links, and I knew that I didn’t have anything to post whatsoever. That is until I was surfing pinboard, and found these links completely by accident! Actually, 3 came from Pinboard, and the other one came from Twitter.
- E.gg Timer A very simple countdown timer, if you need to count down for something, this site will do it.
- Steep.it How long should you steep your tea? I think I’ve been steeping mine way too long!
- Here is my empire, from 5880.me This is a very interesting way to read things, using a service like Instapaper, Pinboard, and a couple other things.
- I’m leaving the internet for a year, from The Verge A tech writer is attempting to not use the internet for a year, he explains it in this post, (Reddit thread for this is: right here.
