I was on a team that prayed for 2 people today. I think the other team prayed for 2 more, unless they prayed for 3, I’m not really sure. They want us to learn about this thing called “terraforming,” and the website for that is right here. From what I understand, it’s about breaking generational curses, and healing the land. We were watching a DVD about it, and the lady was talking about Terraforming her TV… and that’s where I started having reservations. You ask God to shine a light into the past, and reveal what needs to be forgiven, then you either walk the person through a prayer, (you can do it for a person,) or you do it yourself if it’s you, or your house… or a ring or a chair. They believe that “matter has memory,” and so whatever the person brings in with them rubs off on it, (like a chair, or a ring,) and it remembers, so you have to break those curses… yeah don’t ask me! I watched a few minutes of it in between praying and waiting, and it definitely seems out there to me. They want everyone to bring sack lunches and stay 2 hours overtime next week to watch the whole DVD. On a less weird note, I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow! I’m going to get stuff I can actually eat while I’m doing this challenge, instead of just crap.

Dad’s birthday is tomorrow, but we celebrated it tonight by going to dinner. we met mom and my sister at the olive garden, they were coming from Portland. We didn’t have to wait to be seeded at all, which usually never happens! It didn’t take as long as usual either, usually it takes an hour to order, and an hour to get the food. The whole trip took about 3 and a half hours, and 2 and a half hours of that was driving. I did go to church early this morning, and I really enjoyed it! I actually like going to church that early.
Saturday, April 28, 2012
I’m going with my friend who’s on worship team to church at 7:15 tomorrow morning. I actually don’t mind going to church around that time, and I enjoy being there for the practice. My friend and her boyfriend did me a favor today, they picked up a card for dad while they were at WalMart. I wasn’t sure when I was going to be able to get one, because I have to be at church early, I probably won’t stay both services, although there’s a chance I might have to. Then dad and I will be leaving to meet mom and my sister for dinner of course.

Not too much went on here today. I just discovered that I only have one working speaker though, and I’ve only had these things for about 4 months! Uh… I might be taking a trip to staples sometime next week, this isn’t exactly how I want things to work. I had a weird dream last night! It’s around this time of year, that I start dreaming about Blogathon,(don’t ask me why!) So I actually dreamt I did 2 Blogathons in less than a month. I don’t think I’d ever do that… well unless someone challenges me to it, and I really don’t think I’d like to stay up 24 hours twice in the span of like 3 weeks. Mom called me today, to tell me what the plans for dad’s birthday are, actually it’s the night before. We’re going to Olive Garden to celebrate! Mom and my sister will be in Portland this weekend with the baby, and dad and I, and maybe my sister’s boyfriend will meet them at Olive Garden , the nearest one is about an hour and 15 minutes from here, give or take 15 minutes.

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection act, (CISPA,) passed the house today. There were 248 yes votes to 168 no votes. The hearings were live streamed, but I didn’t find the stream until the very end, whejn they were voting. Here are some CISPA links:

I now have air conditioning! Of course, it decided to rain today, but it was still warm in here this morning. What cancelled tv show do you wish they’d bring back? I really enjoyed watching the West Wing, I kind of wish they’d bring that one back. I did miss a lot of it while I was at the school for the blind though. It was the year after I graduated from OSB that West Wing was canceled. Via that’s my answer

3 fairly useful links and a fun one this week.
- JPEGmini OK, this is supposed to compress photos so they aren’t so big… the question is why didn’t I remember this while trying to send the baby pictures to mom a couple weeks ago? I ended up having to send 3 emails with 2 pictures each!
- Propagated Yet? DNS Propagation notifier. OK, so when you buy a new domain you have to wait for everything to resolve and it can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, (usually, it’s about 24 hours in my experience.) this is supposed to tell you if the domain has resolved yet.
- My Fitness Pal This is what I’m using to track my intake and exercise for my challenge thingy.
- Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon I found out about this last weekend! This happens twice a year, in April and October. Although I’m not sure if I could maintain the concentration to read for the better part of 24 hours, (um… especially near the end!) I could however sign up to cheerlead. People sign up, then on the day of the event they blog every so often, (there isn’t really any structure, it could be every hour, or every 8 hours,) what books they’re reading, how they liked the last book they finished etc.

I sat in for my friend as a proxy today. We had someone do this last week, so I decided to do it this time. The people who were going to be praying for her ghought she was my mom, (lol, we get that a lot!) Usually that happens in restaurants when we go out to lunch, or stores like RiteAid, but it was kind of weird that they thought that because it was completely random, and she wasn’t even there. I’m not sure how many people we prayed for altogether today, but I was on a team that prayed for 2 people. In other news, completely unrelated to pretty much anything, I think I’m starting to get used to the new blogger interface. I definitely don’t hate it, although there are a couple of things that used to work that don’t, (um… comment replies!) but then again I don’t love it either. It’s just like OK, they changed the interface so what? Yay it mostly works, OK cool whatever.

Not a whole lot went on today, except for the fact that I’ve had a headache all day. It’s probably the heat, to go from raining last week to really warm this weekend is a bit weird. I did go to church with my friend today, she just came and rang my bell without calling me. After the service was over, we both got prayer. I got prayer for family issues, and she got prayer for several things. I think things with mom are going to be OK afterall. I called her, and we actually did talk for a few minutes, which is better than yesterday.

In other words, where did our spring go? OK so its spring according to the date, but the temperature here is around 80! I’m sitting here in shorts right now, and I had to bring the fan from the bedroom out. I don’t have my AC in yet, because it involves putting boards in the window a certain way, so everything doesn’t fall out, and I’m not exactly sure how to do it, (I should probably have my friend show me next time she comes.) It’s supposed to be nice like this today and tomorrow though, then it’s supposed to rain and get back down to like 60, so I might want to wait on the AC until next month. Obviously after everything is in the window, the window has to stay open a little bit, and we don’t want it to rain inside my apartment! What usually happens for me, is heat tends to want to stay in here when it first gets warm. Yesterday it was also close to 80, but it wasn’t that bad in here until the afternoon. It’s been really warm in here all day today, and I didn’t have to turn up the heat in the morning at all like I have been.

Something fun for a Friday, because it’s something different. Here are this week’s statements: 1. I always forget___ 2. I never __without___ 3. Recently I started to _____, and it has helped tremendously! 4. If I had to find a date, the last place I would look for one is _______. Here are my answers: 1. I always forget to pay the bills that are due at the end of the month. I do have a couple such bills that are due on the last day of each month, and they usually end up being a few days late because I don’t remember to pay them, although I’m getting better at that. 2. I never eat peanut butter without chocolate. 3. Recently I started to make to-do lists, and it has helped tremendously! I’m remembering to do more things, yeah… including paying those bills, (lol!) I just started making the lists a couple months ago, and I find I get things done that I’ve been putting off for years. 4. If I had to find a date, the last place I would look for one is a bar, but specifically a strip club! Yeah, I can’t believe I just said that, now I’m going to get weird searches for this blog… but it’s true! Just a quick update on my challenge thingy, my friend weighed me a couple days ago, and I lost a pound! Yeah I know a pound isn’t that much, but I was afraid I wasn’t going to loos anything.”/>

I did send the letter to mom this morning. While I was writing it, I got a text message from her, with the number and name of the person she wants me to call about the facility. I went out to dinner with my grandma, mom, and my dad, and mom and I didn’t really talk a lot. I’m not sure if she got my email, but I think even if she didn’t, she knew something was up. Grandma called and asked if I wanted to go to dinner, and I couldn’t really say no, because she’s only in town for a couple more days.
Wednesday, April 18, 2012
OK, so let me just start out with the fact that this is a long story, and it goes back to 2010. Around July of that year, mom read in the paper that there was going to be an assisted living facility for people with developmental disabilities built here in our town. Of course she wanted, (and still wants,) me to move in there, and of course every time something has broken or gone wrong over the past couple years, I’ve received lectures about how it would just be easier if you lived here at home, or in a place where people could take care of you.
She wants me to see things from her point of view, which is that she doesn’t want me to live alone. OK, that’s fine, and there are other ways to fix that, but this definitely isn’t one of them. She wants me to make friends with people “my age,” but since a lot of these people would most likely be developmentally delayed, they definitely wouldn’t be acting my age.
Anyway, she called me last night to tell me that an apartment is coming open in this facility next month, and of course the fact that she still wants me to live there. I plan to write her an email tomorrow morning and send it to her, because I probably wouldn’t be able to say anything to her on the phone, without being interrupted and yelled at a thousand times over! While she was talking to me last night, she said they have one bedroom and studio apartments. After living in a one bedroom for almost 6 years, I just don’t see myself in a studio at all! So in other words, hello July 2010, it’s nice to see you again… except definitely not so much, oh and please don’t stay long, OK? If everyone could please keep me in your prayers, I would greatly appreciate it right now!
Oh, the explanation part! After mom called me and told me this I was way too worried and distracted to even think about getting anything together for weekly links.

I haven’t been doing well on my challenge thingy today or yesterday. I didn’t realize that I’d be out with my parent’s that long, and we ate out for dinner. Today I ended up having Mcdonalds for lunch, and I’ve decided that I’m not doing that again for the rest of the month, (at least!) We had 4 people at healing rooms today, it was a quiet day compared to the past couple weeks.
Sunday, April 15, 2012
Dad and I ended up going to first service, instead of second. After church, we went back to my parent’s house, so that dad could get some things ready to go to my sister’s house. We stayed there for a couple hours, then we left for my sister’s house at around 1:30. I didn’t get home until around 5:20, and I got to hold the baby twice! While we were there, dad fixed some things, and mom helped my sister with the baby.
Saturday, April 14, 2012
My friend who normally takes me to church isn’t planning to go tomorrow, and my other friend who takes me when she isn’t here seems to be well… out of town herself. I called the lady who helps run the healing rooms, (she’s taken me to church a couple times before,) and she didn’t call me back until a little bit ago. I decided that I would call mom, and ask if dad wanted to take me to church. I don’t remember if I posted about this, but dad called me once last month, (I think it was the weekend after the baby shower,) to ask if I needed a ride to church, because if I didn’t he would take me. I didn’t need a ride that weekend, but this time I actually did. Dad said he would take me to church, and we’re going to second service. When the lady from healing rooms called back, I told her that I didn’t need a ride, that dad was taking me, and she said that was fine because she wasn’t sure if she was going to go to church tomorrow.

For some reason, I have a headache right now, I didn’t earlier this morning, and part of the afternoon. Otherwise not much really happened here. Mom and dad might be going to work on my sister’s house sometime this weekend. I told her I’d like to go over there to see the baby, and to see my sister’s house, (I haven’t been there yet.) I’m not sure when they’ll be going, or if I’ll be going yet though. I’m still trying to get used to this challenge thing, since I didn’t prepare for it beforehand it’s harder than it normally would be.
Thursday, April 12, 2012
So I’ve decided, for no other reason than having to avoid buying a lot of clothes this summer, to cut back on the sugar for the rest of this month, and all of next month, (or most of it.) I don’t need to loos lots of weight, but I’d like to lose about 10-15 pounds, I’m still doing my twists every day, and I’m going to be adding other things to that routine so that I’m not only doing 3 or 4 minutes of exercise. So you just might be wondering what my definition of “cutting back is.” Well, that’s not putting sugar in my tea, not eating sugary cereals, and the obvious, not eating chocolate, ice cream, and cookies, or whatever else I might have in my vicinity, or happen upon elsewhere. I’m also going to try my best to avoid salty snacks, like chips, crackers, etc. Yeah, it will hopefully last more than 30 days; I’m hoping to go to around the end of next month, although I don’t have a target date. I’m going to start keeping track of what I eat as much as I can, but not on this blog, (don’t worry!) I actually do like 30 day challenges, they’re kind of fun! If I find a good site to keep track of these things, I’ll link to it.

What is (are) the most unconventional food(s) that you like for breakfast? Well, I ate frozen fruit for breakfast this morning, and nothing else. As for unconventional foods I eat for breakfast on a regular basis, there really aren’t any. But I’ve eaten cereal for lunch sometimes when I’ve got up late, or don’t really feel like eating anything else. Although there was this one time, when I was in my last weeks at the school for the blind, we went out for breakfast to celebrate our graduation, and it was so late by the time we went out, I ended up having cheese fries for breakfast! I actually really did like it!

A lot of Techdirt links this week, but the first one isn’t.
- SOPA Part II: New Cyber Intelligence Bill Threatens To Label Alleged Infringers As National Security Threats, from blog.experts-exchange.com This is a bit of an explination of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection act, (or CISPA,) but I have a better one.
- CISPA Is A Really Bad Bill, And Here’s Why, from techdirt.com
- Did Congress Really Not Pay Attention To What Happened With SOPA? CISPA Ignorance Is Astounding, from techdirt I especially like the last part of this one, but yeah, I think they were all asleep on 1/18/2012 or something.
- Facebook Buys Instagram for $1 Billion, from mashable. I just had to throw that one in there. The question I have is, why is the evening news talking about Facebook buying Instagram? Is it because it’s Facebook, or because Instagram sold for a billion dollars.

enough for my mom to take pictures of her with my phone. My phone
takes really big pictures, so I’m hoping I can at least post a couple
of them. Mom took 4 pictures. I don’t plan to do a second picture post
for a while, but when I do, maybe I’ll throw the last couple of these
in. It all depends on how many gmail will let me attach, I was having
trouble with it last night. We prayed for 8 people at healing rooms
today, I was on a team that prayed for 4 of them. If we would have had
enough team members, we could have had 3 rooms open instead of just 2.
PS, I tried attaching 3 and it failed, so let’s try it with 2.

I was baptised 5 years ago today! My parent’s and I went to church this morning, mom had to leave early because she had to take my sister back to the hospital to have the baby checked. The baby is a bit jaundiced, but they said it was OK. Then, we went to my sister’s boyfriend’s parent’s house for dinner. We stayed there for about 3 hours or so, then we left. I got to hold the baby for a couple minutes while mom took pictures with my phone, I asked her to take the pictures so that I could post them here and on facebook, without people having to be friends with my sister to see them.

How long have you been blogging? Since 2003, I used diaryland first, switched to blogger for a while in 2004, switched to journalspace a month or so after switching to blogger. I registered my first domain, webstarlet.net, in January of 2005, and started using self-hosted wordpress then. I registered lifes-adventures.net in 2006, and installed wordpress on a hosting account associated with that domain. I stopped using wordpress in 2009, and lost my domain last month.

I got to go back to the hospital last night with my dad. I got to hold Aniah twice, once when we got there, and once before we left. I’ve decided to go with my family to my sister’s boyfriend’s parent’s house on Easter. I could go to Samaritan inn, but it would end up being a lot of waiting. Mom, dad and I are going to go to church Sunday morning. I assume we’re going to my sister’s boyfriend’s parent’s right after that, but it probably won’t happen that way, because church gets out at 10:30. I shared the picture that my sister posted on Facebook yesterday, but she hasn’t tagged me in any pictures so I don’t think I can download them. My friend wanted to see a picture of the baby, but she couldn’t because of my sister’s privacy settings. She wanted to be friends with my sister so that she could see the pictures, but when I texted my sister to tell her, she said she didn’t want her to. I’m just going to show her my sister’s profile when she comes over here next week sometime.
Thursday, April 5, 2012
I became an Aunt today, at 11:54 this morning. The baby wasn’t supposed to come for another couple weeks, so this was completely unexpected! Her name is Aniah Trinity, and she ways 5 pounds, 9 ounces. I was at the hospital while she was born, but my sister wanted a friend in there during delivery instead of me. Originally she was only going to have mom and her boyfriend in the room, but mom never told me that, or I wouldn’t have gone to the hospital, I would have gone with my dad, (who’s at work right now,) when he got off work. I definitely wasn’t happy that I wasn’t told anything beforehand, because I really didn’t need to be there this morning. I did go in for a little bit while she was in labor, but before they gave the epidural, they told everyone but one person to leave, so mom and I went to the waiting room. Mom didn’t get to go back in until she was ready to deliver, about an hour later.

I found out we’re having 2 services at church on Sunday. Someone at healing rooms told me that there would only be one service, and that would be the Easter play our church does every year. Actually, we’ll be having a regular Easter service, then the play second service. My family got invited to go to my sister’s boyfriend’s parent’s house for Easter. I think that it’s kind of weird, so I really don’t want to go. My friend invited me to have Easter dinner at the women’s mission last Sunday, while I was chatting with her on Facebook. Now that there’s going to be a regular Easter service at church, mom and I are going to first service. I think I’ll be going to the Women’s mission after that, but I’m not quite sure, because my friend isn’t sure if she’s still going to help cook dinner.

One of the links for this week is something that you probably have heard of before, but it’s cool and useful, so I’m linking to it.

Today went very well at healing rooms! We had about 6 people, and I was part of the team that prayed for 3 of them. I do have to admit I had my doubts about healing rooms at the beginning, because they do some things that are strange to an outsider at first, but I don’t have my doubts anymore, and I’m learning a lot! Today was grocery shopping day for my friend and I. My friend’s boyfriend obviously couldn’t go with us, because he’s still in jail. I think we did OK on our own though, we got done in record time, and I had the lowest bill I’ve had since last July. How do I remember how long it’s been? Because that was when I went shopping to get stuff for a couple weeks for blogathon, etc. Today’s Mark’s birthday! Mark posts on this blog once in a while, like maybe once or twice a year, not only that, he’s a really good friend! Happy birthday again Mark, (for like the 4th time today!)

Tonight 60 minutes did a report on the fact that sugar is bad for you, and that it can be linked to many bad things. Couldn’t they tell me something I don’t already know? I guess not, but it was still a report full of stating mostly obvious things. here is a link to the article. Here’s a quote from the report: “Dr. Robert Lustig: Ultimately this is a public health crisis. And when it’s a public health crisis, you have to do big things and you have to do them across
the board. Tobacco and alcohol are perfect examples. We have made a conscious choice that we’re not going to get rid of them, but we are going to limit
their consumption. I think sugar belongs in this exact same wastebasket.” OK, I do agree that it does cause problems, but we regulate alcohol, and people still drink… don’t they? We tax cigarettes and tobacco, but people still smoke, (or at least my mother does!) I was reading the comments on this last night, and I like what one person said, ” If administered in a large enough quantity, over a short enough period of time, with a sufficient margin of error in the study sample, there is not a single substance on planet earth which is not toxic.” here’s the place where I found that. I did have to search to find it again!
Meanwhile, (and I read this before today, from a few different places,) there’s a study out there that suggests chocolate might help you loos wait, here are a couple links. Lose weight by eating chocolate — I’m not fooling - TribToday.com
Can chocolate help you lose weight? Study says yes, but evidence is uncertain, from boston.com There are studies for everything these days, and I’m not exactly sure which ones to believe. I’m not sure I believe the ones that say sugar is linked to 500000000000 things under the sun, but I’m not exactly sure about the chocolate study either.
