I just got back.

I just got back from the mission, where I was handing out candy. They said that they wouldn’t have very many trick-or-treaters, but I’d say they had about 20-30 this time. I had dinner there, they cooked chicken and rice casserole. I was there for about 4 hours, they came and got me around 4. I’ll be going to the VA tomorrow, and maybe to the lady’s house to catch up on training.

Sunday, October 30, 2011

My friend called me last night, to tell me that she forgot she had to be on worship team this morning. That means that instead of being at church by 9, she had to be there by 7:30. I went to bed at about 9:30 last night, and I woke up at about 1:30 this morning. I didn’t want to stay up until 7:15, when we had to leave, so I decided to take a Tylenol PM. I thought I’d be asleep for about 3-4 hours, then wake up in time to get ready for church. But, I didn’t wake up until my friend called me! I didn’t realize one tylenol PM could make me sleep that much. I learned last week while watching the Murray trial, that Tylenol PM is actually Tylenol and Benadryl. It’s definitely the benadryl that makes me sleep that much, and it’s most likely why Tylenol PM gives me headaches.

Skipping weekly links.

I’m skipping weekly links today, because well… I looked and didn’t find any links that interested me. I’m hoping I’ll find some next week. I’ll be going to church tomorrow, with my friend who I went on retreat with. We’ll be going to first service. my other friend has been sick all week, and she wants to take the time to recover. This is the friend who convinced me to sign up for healing rooms, oh and today she told me she wasn’t going to do it anymore. I’m 1 behind in the training videos, I went both to the training and the lady’s house on Thursday, so that puts me with 1 left to catch up on. On Monday, I’m going to her work to help hand out candy, I don’t get any trick-or-treaters here, so I’m going there where they get some.

5 Question Friday.

Here are 5 questions and the answers.
1. Do you prefer cotton, silk, or flannel sheets? I like cotton in the summer, and flannel the rest of the time.
2. What time zone are you in? The pacific time zone.
3. What is your favorite part of the holiday season? I think it’s either the shopping, the baking, or the decorating.
4. What is your favorite “wintry” drink? (It doesn’t have to be an “alcoholic” drink!) That would usually be tea, but sometimes coffee.
5. In your opinion, what is the worst job in the world? I’m not really sure about that one. Maybe an assembly line job, something that you have to do over and over.

today and tonight.

I didn’t really do much today, but I did go to the lady’s house for more training for healing rooms. I have to go to training again tonight, at someone elses house. After today, then I’ll be all caught up, and I won’t have to go to the ladie’s house anymore. I’ll still have to go to the training on Thursday nights though. I’m ordering pizza tonight, I just ordered it a little bit ago.

A question.

How optimistic are you? Is the glass half full or half empty? It’s usually half full, although I tend to have a reason for everything. Some people see that as being negative, but I don’t. I’m always the one that asks “what if?” What if this happens or that happens? Sometimes when I do that, people have told me not to be so negative.

Flu shot day.

I went to the VA today. I got a letter saying that I needed to have a flu shot, and today was the day for me to get one. After they gave me the injection, I worked in the flu clinic until it was time to leave. I helped check people in, and give them their forms. After I came back home, I only had time to eat lunch. Then I had to go to a ladie’s house to do this training thing for church. It’s for the healing rooms, where you go in and pray for people. There are lots of steps you have to go through before you get there though.

Do you send thank you notes? Not usually, unless it’s a really formal ocasion. I’ll usually call or email the person, I never know what to say in a thank you card besides “thank you,” so I don’t usually write them.
Via that’s my answer.
I haven’t really done much today, I’ve had a really bad headache all day.

Yesterday morning, around 9, my friend came to get me to take me to the women’s mission. This was my 2nd time sharing my testimony there, (the first time was 4 months ago.) Before we actually had to start, we went into my friend’s office to get ready. I asked her to play a song before I shared my testimony, it was this song.
I found this song on Friday, and it’s kind of become my favorite song. The actual testimony went fairly well, I had my friend ask me questions again, because she said I didn’t have to recite it in speech form. After we were done, and I waited for my friend to finish some stuff she had to do, she took me out to lunch. After lunch, we went to the grocery store, so my friend could get some haloween ccandy to hand out to the trick-or-treaters who come to the mission, (the women’s mission is just a big house in the neighborhood.) Oh and I got some stuff too. I asked her if I could go hand out candy at the mission, because I haven’t gotten to do that in a long time. When I lived at my parent’s house on the mountain, there were no trick-or-treaters, and noone comes up to my apartment.

Weekly links for 10/22

So, here are a couple links I found yesterday.

Archived Book Find old facebook status updates, pictures, etc.
  • Is it old? Find out if how old the link you’re sharing is.

I only have 2 links for this week.

Friday, October 21, 2011

I’ll be posting weekly links tomorrow, I have a couple links, but didn’t find them until just about an hour ago. Tomorrow morning, I’m going to share my testimony again, at the same place I went last time. My friend asked me to do it again, because there are new people there, and I said yes. What I didn’t know, is that she’d ask me to do it on a Saturday, which I still think is a bit weird, but whatever. Her husband is picking me up at 8:45 in the morning tomorrow, and I’ll probably be there until around 10, if not 10:30.

Thursday, October 20, 2011

I actually didn’t do all that much today. I did watch the Murray trial all day, and the prosecution’s expert continued testifying. He’s an Anesthesiologist and a pharmacologist. His testimony is extremely fascinating to me! I wanted to be an Anesthesiologist at one time. He set up an IV system, with 2 infusion lines, one with the Anesthetic Propofol, and one with regular fluid. He demonstrated how the infusions were done with both lines, and described it every step of the way, as the prosecutor instructed. Yep, there was an IV infusion set up and demonstrated in court for the jurry, which was very fascinating stuff!

A question and other stuff.

What is your favorite kind of chocolate? That’s a hard question to answer, because when it comes to chocolate, I like most things. I do like dark chocolate more than milk chocolate, but then again I’ll take both. Although, if I’m going into a chocolate shop, (like I did to sees last Friday,) I’ll usually order dark chocolate. I guess when it comes to chocolate, I’m not as much of an elitist as I used to be, when I was away for 3 years in the big city, although I still really like the expensive stuff!

I just talked to mom a little bit ago, she said they found a suspicious package at the VA today. She thought I was there, but since it’s Wednesday, I wasn’t. I got my hair cut today, by my friend who cut it 4 months ago. She didn’t have time to do the length, but she’ll do that again either next week or Sunday morning, when she takes me to church for the first time in 3 weeks.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

I went to the VA today. It was the one time in the quarter when the weekly takes the longest, because we’re switching to a new quarter, (starting the new fiscal year.) I think the VA starts there’s a bit early, because usually it doesn’t end until 10/30. After that they had me do this craft project thingy for their haloween party, (they call it a “harvest” party.) After I was done with that, we called paratransit. I didn’t get home until like 11:30 today, but that’s earlier than 12:15, which was last week. After the VA, I waited a while, and ate lunch. Then my friend and her semi-x boyfriend and I went grocery shopping. They needed to get stuff too, so he followed us with a cart, which is actually a better way to do it so that he doesn’t concentrate on me the whole time.

Monday, October 17, 2011

I actually didn’t do much today, I had a headache all day. I’ll be going to the VA tomorrow morning though. I might be going grocery shopping either tomorrow or Thursday, I’m not sure yet. It depends on when my friend has time to go. After I click publish, I’m going to bed, I waited too long to write this post.

A question, and some other things.

Bottled or tap water? It’s from the tap, but I have water bottles so that it stays cold in my fridge. Via that’s my answer
I got up late this morning, at like 6:45, and I had to leave for church at 7:15. I was awake probably a half hour earlier, but I just didn’t get up for some reason. I watched my friend and the worship team practice, then we had service, and then my friend’s husband brought me home. She had to stay for the 2nd service, so he brought me home and went back to church.

Saturday, October 15, 2011

The conference was OK yesterday, it was about GPS in the morning, and iPhone apps in the afternoon. I left at exactly 6:15 yesterday morning, and didn’t get home until about 6:30 last night. As I said yesterday, I did make a sees run. We used my friend’s GPS to find the way there, and we actually followed the directions and didn’t get lots! I’ll be going to church early tomorrow morning, I’m going with my friend who’s on worship team again this weekend. She was on team last weekend too, but her husband picked me up later.

Weekly links for 10/14

I actually only have 2 links this week.

  • Share what you make People share stuff they make.

  • karmurl Give feedback to receive feedback. This site has an interesting feature though, it’s mostly for websites. If you don’t want to submit anything to receive feedback on, it lets you basically play website roulette. It uses a frame, so it isn’t just like random “spin the web.”

I got back from the conference a little bit ago, my sees run was successfull!

Thursday, October 13, 2011

All day tomorrow.

I’ll be gone all day tomorrow, to go to a teacher’s conference. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to make a sees run on the way back, as I’ll be fairly close to a sees, (closer than I am on a regular basis, anyway.) We have to drive right through a somewhat big city to get to the conference, and that city happens to contain a mall with a sees near it, so I’m hoping we can stop. My former teacher from high school asked me to be on a panel at the conference, I told her that I probably wasn’t familiar enough with the subject to be on the panel. She said I could still go and sit in, so I said I would. We’re actually leaving at 6:15 tomorrow morning, and we probably won’t get home until around 7 tomorrow night. I’m still posting weekly links tomorrow, if I don’t manage to post them before I leave, then I’ll try to post them when I come back.

Not much happened today.

I did watch the trial all day today, there’s something about medical testimony that’s really fascinating! Speaking of testimonies, my friend asked me to go share mine again on 10/22, which is well… um… a Saturday! She works on Saturdays, but it’s just kind of strange that I’ll be running out of here at like 7:30 in the morning on Saturday. OK I’ve done that before for various reasons, (usually family/trip-related,) but never to go to the mission to speak… or be interviewed, or whatever will happen this time.

My trip to the VA and other stuff.

When I got to the VA today, they asked me if I wanted to go to the Flu clinic and check people in. I said that I’ve never done that before, but that I would do it. One person would ask the people questions, and I would hand them the forms that they were supposed to fill out, and give them instructions. I was there the entire time I was at the VA, 2 hours and 45 minutes; I left 15 minutes before paratransit came to go back to my department to wait for them. After the VA, I came home to wait for my friend, so we could go to the housing authority. The housing authority appointment went well, but the lady did tell me the value of the vouchers is being cut so my rent could increase a little bit. After that, we stopped and got lunch, because I didn’t really have time to eat between the times I got home, and when my friend got here. OK, I probably did have some time, but I don’t do all that well with eating in a hurry, it seems to take me twice as long when I’m supposed to be hurrying. Then we went to Rite Aid, and I got what I needed, then we came home.

Monday, October 10, 2011

I go back to the VA tomorrow, it’s been like 2 weeks since I’ve actually done anything there. I also have my housing authority appointment tomorrow, which coincidentally happened on the exact same day last year! My friend is taking me, and after the appointment we’re going to RiteAid to get a few extra things, mainly Excedrin. Tomorrow should be an interesting day. I’m not sure if they’ll have any extra work for me at the VA or not, but I just hope I can remember my password!

A question and stuff.

Do you mind instant coffee? I actually think instant coffee tastes the same as regular coffee, so no I don’t mind it. I have some instant coffee hhere, it’s the same instant coffee that I had for blogathon. I had some the other day, just because it takes a lot less longer than tea when it comes to preparation.

I went to church today, first service. I did go with my friend who was on worship team today, so her husband picked me up at 8:
45. I actually don’t mind going to church early, like at 7:30 which is when we have to go when she’s on team. It’s the staying for both services part I try to avoid, because it makes for a long day. I did have to stay for part of the second service this time, just until the worship was over.

A question

Do you use Google+?I’m on Google+, and I use it to read, but I don’t share much there. This morning I saw a concept that displayed Google+ posts in a blog format, I thought that was kind of cool, and maybe I’ll link to it for weekly links.
Via thats my answer
I’m going to church tomorrow. I guess the plan is for me to go around 8:45, even though my frend is on worship team. I like going early when she’s on worship team, but I don’t necissarily like the staying late part. Our church practices before the first service, and it’s fun to sit and listen to them practice their songs. Other than that, not much else went on today, except for the fact that I accidentally stuck my finger in an air vent. It was one of the vents on the back side of my computer. I usually like to check those vents for dust every once in a while, and I guess I stuck my finger in there without realizing that it was in that far. My fingernail came in contact with what I think was the fan, (but it could have been anything else that spins at an extremely fast rate,) for about a half second before I took it out of there very fast! I guess I won’t be doing that again, I wouldn’t want to break anything!

Weekly links for 10/7

So here are some links.

Thursday, October 6, 2011

The results are in!

As the lady said today, my TB test results were “very negative.” The first time I had these read, the other lady who does these tests said, “oh nothing” when she looked at my arm. I’ll be going back to the VA on Tuesday morning. I delivered the documents to volunteer services, and she thought it was strange that I have my badge. When she called me a couple weeks ago, she nearly insisted that I didn’t have it. Just as I was getting ready to leave, I asked her, “do I need anything else?” She said, “no, just the TB.” When I talked to her on the phone, she said she needed me to learn how to sign in, so that I could get credited hours. She didn’t bring it up this time, and since it creates extra complications because there are only 2 places in the VA where volunteers can sign in, so that would require going to a different place, not straight to my department, I didn’t mention that spacifically.
PS, I’m defering weekly links until tomorrow.

Interesting day.

Today started out with the realization that I missed my housing authority appointment, because I had just gotten the letter like 10 minutes after I was supposed to be there. I had to call and reschedule the appointment, and the lady was OK with it. Then I was watching the Murray trial and they brought out what I would describe as tons of evidence. Seriously, there was like 60 items of evidence brought out while this one witness was testifying, she was asked about every single thing, where she found it and how it was recovered. It was a lot of vials, I didn’t count how many but I think it was close to 50. Then the trial got over, and I checked my email and twitter and such, and did whatever else I did. About an hour and a half later, I turned on the evening news, (which I watch every night anyway, it started out strange, (not how it usually starts.) The Anker got right into it and said Steve Jobs, (the Apple CEO,) had died. I stepped back from the TV and stood there for a while, then I checked twitter. I read in a tweet that the twit guy, (this twit was going on CnN. He was streaming the CNN interview, and everything that was happening on CNN at the same time, the conversations he was having with someone from CNN, (I’m not sure who it was.) I streamed twit live and had CNN on at the same time, when he did the interview I watched it on TV, but streamed everything that happened beforehand.

My TB test.

I went for my TB test today. I was glad it didn’t take very long, because I wanted to be back here by 1:30, and I got back by 1:10. The lady who gave me the test does need to learn how to give injections though. I used to take medicine through injections when I was a kid, so I know what good and bad ones are like. These were bad ones, she didn’t get it deep enough so she decided she needed to push on the neetle 3 times. She then told me that I give her stress-related illnesses, (I know she wasn’t serious,) but if she knew how to give injections maybe it wouldn’t be so stressful! I have to go have the results read on Thursday, at the same time, (around 1.)

Monday, October 3, 2011

Tomorrow and Thursday.

Tomorrow I go get my 2nd TB test done, and on Thursday I go have the results read. The first one was negative, so I’m pretty sure the 2nd one will be too. On Thursday after I have the results read, I have to go deliver the documents to volunteer services. If the TB test results are negative, I should bbe able to go back to the VA next week. Other than watching recent legal cases, not much is going on here. I did get to watch the Amanda Knox italian appeal verdict thingy, (I’m not sure what they call it in Ittally,) live.

Sunday, October 2, 2011

I didn’t really do much today, but we did go to dinner to celebrate mom’s birthday. I got to have fish for once, I don’t usually have fish that often. My parent’s were going to go on a hunting trip yesterday, but for some reason they decided not to go. Otherwise, not much went on here today.

Things and stuff.

I almost forgot to post! Something in my email reminded me to, and I’m glad it did. I would have shut the computer down, and never remembered. I won’t be going to church tomorrow. I couldn’t get a hold of my friend who I went on retreat with, (who usually takes me to church when my friend who usually takes me absolutely refuses to go like she told me she was today.) OK, she didn’t exactly say, “I absolutely refuse to go to church,” but she made it very clear that noone was ever going to talk her into going. I didn’t know she wasn’t going until Thursday night, and I forgot to call my friend until last night, so it was too late to have someone from the church come and get me. I was going to answer a question earlier, but I didn’t find one that looked interesting enough to answer, so I decided not to. I then kept doing whatever I was doing, and that’s how I almost forgot to post. Speaking of “things and stuff,” there’s this show called things and stuff that my friend Mark and I listen to every Saturday night. here is where it happens.
