Today’s the last day of NaBloPoMo Yep, I missed 2 or 3, but whatever, I’m not keeping score, (at least I didn’t quit altogether.)

What have you been late for recently? I try not to be late for anything, although it does happen. I don’t remember being late to anything in the past couple weeks.
via http://thatsmyanswer.com I forgot to take some turkey leftovers when I left my parent’s house Thursday night! So, they brought me some today.

I was going to make a list of 13 things I’m thankful for, and do a Thursday 13 post. But, then I decided I probably didn’t have time to do it, and do all the surfing around that Thursday 13 comes with. So, I think I’ll do that tomorrow morning. My grandma came over today, and we went out to pizza tonight. Otherwise, not much going on here. Yep, I did miss one yesterday.

I had a really, really, big and stressfull meeting yesterday, (I called it the “vesuvial meeting!”) Yep, “vesuvial” actually is a word, I looked it up. Today, I’m going to a memorial service for someone who I knew when I was little, (a family friend’s daughter.)

Which, I do. I’m really not sure what to blog about! We’re 18 days into NaBloPoMo, and the lack of inspiration phase has definitely hit! Of course, that doesn’t mean I haven’t had writer’s block before this, though!

So, here’s a new meme for ya! Manic Monday Yep, I know I’m a day late on this one! But whatever.
You have a brain tumor. Though there is no discomfort at the moment, this tumor would unquestionably kill you in six months. However, your life can (and will) be saved by an operation; the only downside is that there will be a brutal incision to your frontal lobe. After the surgery, you will be significantly less intelligent. You will still be a fully functioning adult, but you will be less logical, you will have a terrible memory, and you will have little ability to understand complex concepts or difficult ideas. The surgery is in two weeks. I wouldn’t have the surgery! But, you can be sure that I would have the best 6 months ever! But, if it was like it’s already scheduled, and you must have it now, there’s no getting out of it! I would make a bunch of lists, type absolutely everything I remember out into several documents, (OK, that might take an entire hard drive!)
Every person you have ever slept with is invited to a banquet where you are the guest of honor. No one will be in attendance except you, the collection of your former lovers, and the catering service. After the meal, you are asked to give a fifteen-minute speech to the assembly.
Let’s just say that theoretically, (if there was actually anyone there besides the caterers and I, which, of course there wouldn’t be.) I’m not sure what I would say, but you can bet that I would most certainly have a speech prepared at least a month ahead of time!
You have won a prize. The prize has two options, and you can choose either (but not both). The first option is a year in Europe with a monthly stipend of $2,000. The second option is ten minutes on the moon. Oh, this is an easy decision for me! I would most definitely pick the moon! Because i’m sure I’ll have another opportunity to go to europe, but I would probably not get a 2nd chance to go to the moon!

I watched the shuttle launch earlier today. It’s always fun to watch those, (for me, anyway!) Today’s was successfull, and went off without a hitch! (In this case, a hitch constitutes a problem that would delay the launch.) I like to watch shuttle missions, (especially the space walks!)

Actually 2, but the first one was pretty bad. About 3-4 weeks ago, the google reader team made some UI change in the ARIA version, (honestly I’m not sure what they did,) to make JAWS not treat feeds as links anymore. In stead, the feeds and folders are treated as text in a list, (both in firefox and IE.) So, first I tried installing and testing Gregarius, which is a self-hosted, web-based RSS reader. But, you have to click a link to update it manually! Obviously, that didn’t work, (I had to have it get new stuff every day.) So then I tried using google reader mobile. Now, I’m sure if I were actually on a phone, google reader mobile would be absolutely wonderful! But, being on a laptop, (and not even a netbook,) it’s a lot less than what I was used to! The feeds were there and everything, and when I clicked the feed links, another list of links would come up, those were links to the posts. But, not the originals, (I’m used to list view, where it shows you a bit of the post then you click the link for the original,) but this opened another google reader window with the post in it! OK, I obviously didn’t want that, so, this morning, I found a 2nd fix! The “all items” thingy, (I’m not sure if that’s classified as a folder or not,) is still treated as a link, so I can go into all items and find the feed I want to read! This actually works, (I tested it this morning!) I can use all the other features fine, (all the ones I used before, anyway,) it’s just that they made this change that took the links to the feeds and folders away!

Yep, I didn’t do anything today. I need to finish my Christmas wishlist, I keep running out of ideas! I think I’m passed my deadline, even though there isn’t supposed to be a deadline, (because it’s just a wishlist!) I think I’m almost done, though, if I could just think of a couple more things to put on the list!

Yep, for the 2nd week in a row, I’m skipping Thursday 13! It isn’t that I have anything against Thursday 13, (I really love doing it!) But, today has been stressful, and I’m trying to get a major issue taken care of. I’m not sure I’m at liberty to go into details at this point. But, it has to do with the new project I started last week. So, hopefully I’ll be able to participate in Thursday 13 next week!

So yeah, after yesterday’s grocery shopping trip, and a pretty crazy week, today has been fairly uneventfull. I looked for a meme to do today, but didn’t find one, I’m sure I’ll find one for tomorrow though! Church tomorrow! Yay! I love my church!
Friday, November 6, 2009
Yep, I finally went grocery shopping! But, I forgot one thing on my list, (LOL!) I hate when that happens! When I used to live with my parents, my dad would always forget stuff. I would ask him if he got something, and he would be all madd, because he realized he didn’t get it! So, yeah, if you thought that I couldn’t ramble on about grocery shopping this much, well… I guess you were wrong!

When I got home today, I thought I should do Thursday 13, then I forgot about it. I just realized it, and realized I haven’t thought of anything to make a list about. So, here’s the post I almost skipped, because I almost forgot to do Thursday 13, then realized it!

I was actually supposed to go grocery shopping yesterday, or at least, that was the plan, anyway. But, I ended up doing lots and lots of things yesterday, and didn’t get home until 7:00 last night as it was, so I was pretty much OK with not going. Then, we were supposed to go tonight, well, we’re not doing that either. So, hopefully the saying “the 3rd time is a charm” will hold true, and we’ll go tomorrow! yep, it’s 5:17 P.M, and I realized I didn’t have anything planned to write about for today, so, there it is!
Tuesday, November 3, 2009
I have lots to do today! I start my new thing at 10:00, (volunteering to help a local nonprofit organization with their newsletter, and maybe some other things.) Then I need to go to Radio shack and staples to get some stuff, (a new ear peace, a digital voice recorder for note taking, and a new flash drive, because mine’s 4 years old.) Then, at 5:00, I have to have my hair cut! So, yep, lots to do today! I’ll be bringing my laptop with me to the volunteer-site today, as I’ll need to install Publisher on it. yep, I need to learn to use Microsoft publisher, (should be fun!)

First, here’s a back-story. I got 3 PDF files last week, which I needed to look at for this new thing I’m doing, (more on that tomorrow.) At first, everything appeared to work fine, (I downloaded the files and opened them.) But then, JAWS, (my screen reader,) decided that it thought it might be fun to read all 3 PDF files in a nice flowing form, (without any spaces or breaks whatsoever.) Not saying that these files don’t have those, it’s just that, well, they appear not to! So, I tried throwing one of the files into a word document, (to see if JAWS would read it the same way,) and it did. This morning, (when I woke up at 5:00 A.M,) I decided that, just to cover all bases, I would upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader. That didn’t fix it, then I tried downloading this PDF to text converter program, to see if that might fix it. The program was in a zip file, I went to extract it to a folder that it said it would create if it didn’t exist. Well, turns out, it didn’t create the folder after all! I had almost 300 files all over my desktop! I did end up getting rid of all the files, (by hand, one-by-one, because I didn’t want to accidentally delete anything that I needed.) Oh yeah, on top of that, I have this drink warmer thingy that sits next to my desk, I forgot to turn it on, (so my tea was almost cold!) LOL! So yeah, safe to say it’s been an interesting morning here!

OK, yeah, your probably like “what?” “beginnings?” Well, Today is the 1st day of NaBloPoMo, which stands for “National blog posting month.” So, as being one who’s always up for anything, I’m doing this for a 2nd time. I did it last year, (when this blog was still on wordpress.) So, yep, I have to post every day for 30 days! Consider this my 1st one. Now, it’s off to church with me!
